Overall, the Rocketbook offers a “very good” writing experience. In my opinion, it’s better than writing on an iPad with the Apple Pencil or writing on just about any kind of tablet using a stylus. I would say that, if you like writing in a paper notebook, you will certainly enjoy using the Rocketbook.
There are several options and sizes to chose from within the Rocketbook line-up… but I went with the Rocketbook Core and picked the 6 inches x 8.8 inches sized notebook.
How does Rocketbook Work?
You can write in the Everlast notebook with the included FriXion pen, take a picture to scan the notes, and seamlessly send either a PDF or JPEG of your writing to a host of destinations (your email, messages, iCloud, Google Docs, Dropbox, and more). Then, once you’re done and want a fresh page, you take a wet cloth and wipe it down. Your notes come off, and you can start the process again. There are 36 pages, but some users may find they only regularly touch one to five of them.
Is the Rocketbook work it?
Under $30It’s a pretty great use of $30. You get access to your notes online without additional typing, get to use something lighter and easier than your laptop to jot things down, and you only need to buy one notebook for $30 to end all future notebook purchases. You don’t need to re-up on your Everlast (theoretically), and you’ll have digital copies of your notes so you won’t find yourself digging through a stack of legal pads in the attic at any point.
Overall, the Rocketbook was what I went with, after considering other similar products offering – including tablets – and is now my top notebook recommendation for anyone who likes the experience of writing in a notebook but still wants to keep their notes digitally organized.

Moleskine Pen+ Ellipse Smart Writing Set Pen & Ruled Smart Notebook
There are a few companies that build smart notebooks, but in our experience, the best smart notepad is built by a famous notebook company called Moleskine. It’s called the Moleskine Smart Writing Set, and it includes a paper tablet, smart pen, and one pen ink refill.
The pad measures 8.50 by 5.25 inches, and looks just like a standard notebook, though the pages protrude a little from the cover. On the inside, you’ll find that the pages are dotted with a grid pattern. Unlike some other smart notebooks, you can’t use standard paper when you run out of space in this notebook.
